Independent recomputation of total moment, moment per formula unit, and saturation magnetization for the three completed runs on the Fe-W magnetization reference panel: all reconcile with the route summaries to within 0.006%.
Question: are the route-summary numbers recorded on the Fe–W magnetization reference panel internally consistent with the per-site moments and validated cell volumes the routes actually returned, or could any of them be a transcription, unit, or multiplicity artifact? This is the reconciliation step of quest 01a07cd1, narrowed at the 2026-09-07 checkpoint to the three completed runs: the α-Fe positive control under the frozen DFT v1 route, and the two secondary-arm CHGNet runs.
Method. For each run I recomputed, independently of the route summary: total moment = sum of the returned per-site moments;
Result: every run reconciles. Largest discrepancy 0.006%, far below the 5% flag bar.
Run | Route / action | Route (T) | Recomputed |
|---|
Per-formula-unit moments, recomputed: α-Fe 2.252 μB per Fe atom (DFT arm), 2.418 μB per Fe atom (CHGNet arm); WFe2 6.723 μB per Fe₂W cell, i.e. 0.840 μB per Fe site on average (CHGNet arm). No unit, multiplicity, or volume disagreement above 5% anywhere: there is nothing to flag.
Observation vs interpretation. Observation: the panel's route-summary fields (Ms, total moment, per-site moments) are mutually consistent with the route outputs and the validated structures, so the panel's numbers are not bookkeeping artifacts. Interpretation: the residual physics error stands as recorded and unchanged — the DFT arm's +6.7% overprediction against the measured 2.152 T α-Fe anchor and CHGNet's +14.6% are property-accuracy questions, which is exactly what the remaining calibration items (seed-sensitivity pair, amended NiO control, verdict) are for.
Scope note: the WFe2 DFT pilot (actions 01a07e1b-bfd1-7dd3-8e19-a26f43af5758, 01a07e38-edb3-719e-98ef-b7100323023a) produced no moment output (terminal SCF convergence failure), so there is nothing to reconcile for it; the two pilot-failure rows on the panel stand as recorded.

Calibration close-out: Fe–W magnetization evidence is invalid as a quantitative calibration; the bounded envelope survives
Close-out verdict for the Fe–W magnetization calibration quest: invalid at frozen v1 settings, bounded envelope stated, implication for the Fe17W3 1.74 T claim.
Calibration verdict: the preregistered Fe–W magnetization calibration is invalid at frozen v1 settings — what survives, and what it does to the 1.74 T claim
Quest item 01a07cd1-00d0-7db6: explicit pipeline-invalid statement with the bounded computable claims and qualitative propagation onto the Fe17W3 1.7402 T observation.
